Materials We Use

We use a variety of materials ethically sourced around the world to create our pieces.

Below is an overview of the common materials we use.

Metals

14KGF (14K Gold-Filled)

Gold-filled is different from gold-plated - gold is bonded to a base metal by heat and pressure, and is legally required to include at least 5% gold by weight. It is an affordable alternative to solid karat gold.

We use 14K gold-filled jewelry findings in most pieces, especially for earring hooks, clasps, and other parts that have frequent direct contact with skin. This prevents problems for those who have metal allergy.

Gold-Plated

Gold-plated materials have a very thin film of gold on base metal, which is 0.05% or less gold by weight. Such thin layer causes it to wear down easily; however, it offers a plethora of designs that are not available in 14KGF.
